All tobacco tasteand not chemical as with many other cased flakes. Too bad its no longer in production. The nic-hit was a step past the center of mild to medium. Nicotene heaven, robust,a manly smoke,puts hair on your chest,spicey,nutty,mellow,good all the way to the bottom of the bowl. The perfect "early morning" smoke. Look at the name and the tin description. Occasionally some gurgle but not to where I would find it distracting. Instead, it is a brown sugar like tin note, which also translates into the smoke. They fire up on the second light and burn nicely. The smoke is sweet, buttery, darkly fruity,and oy slightly Smoky. Sort of a brown sugar/caramel/molasses/vanilla/honey thing goin on there. I mostly smoke C&D, so I am quite sensitive when there are ingredients other than all natural tobacco. There is a topping for sure that carries over to the room note, but I think Maple is added to the licorice.. could be both which would explain the difficulty in pipers describing the smell, but I do smell licorice but there is something present that is sweet. The VA's in it are quite good. This is an interesting blend. Lights well and an easy burn, followed by a rich sweet taste that is not overpowering, keeps it's flavour throughout the bowl and burns down to a nice grey ash. Be the first to review this product. Immediately one smells a deep hay-like quality, cocoa, molasseses, coffee and maybe a hint of cherry or some other fruity essence. Have no fear - I have never experienced turning green with this one thankfully. I can also detect a mild anise flavored casing I have not experienced until the release of this product. I do believe age would enhance the flavor profile but I cannot testify to that at this point. I prefer to smoke this blend as vell as straight VA and KY in a billiard. . This is a good one. He ordered 3 tins of this and Nightcap at my suggestion and they all sold. Plenty has been said of its qualities, but for the life of me I couldnt taste any of the dark-fired Kentucky in this blend. This should be enjoyed by the burly lover and as a very big step up for the aromatic lover. Great flavor. Powerful I don't mind, I like stout tobaccos, just like my beers. This blend provides a cool, dense, rich, sweet taste from start to finish and Stokkebye, the blender, has perfectly balanced the Burley with the sweet VAs. This seemed to be like another Danish product I have found not to my liking in the pastMacBarenhowever once lit this distances itself greatly. Pulled out a cob, just in case it was a flavored tobacco, filled it and we were off. I don't think you want to fully rub this one out, best results for me come from a kind of broken flake.
