On April 2, 2020, the Postal Service received notifications from various postal operators regarding changes in international mail services due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Therefore, all previously announced measures, including force majeure, continue to apply. This temporary measure will be effective until further notice. Iran UPDATE: Iran National Post has advised that most government-imposed restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic have been lifted, and the difficulties arising from the pandemic have now ended. As a result, the force majeure previously declared for all international letter-post, parcel-post and Express Mail Service (EMS) items will remain in effect until further notice. However, items normally requiring the addressees signature upon delivery are being handed over without signature. The US Postal Service will continue to accept and process mail destined for the aforementioned countries. In addition, effective May 22, 2020, the Postal Service will temporarily suspend international mail acceptance to destinations where transportation is unavailable due to widespread cancellations and restrictions into the area. Sri Lanka UPDATE:The Department of Posts has advised that the Government of Sri Lanka has extended the national lockdown until October 1, 2021. Lithuania UPDATE:Lithuania Post has advised that the Lithuanian Government has lifted the quarantine regime as of June 17, 2020.
